That’s why, on April 20th, we’re bringing together four customers that have thrived after moving their Oracle applications to the cloud. New Avon, Clearwater Paper, Southcoast Health, and ACN will share the virtual stage during the Quest Forum Digital Event’s free Innovation Week filled with keynote speakers, Oracle roadmap updates, and strategic insights.

How New Avon Cut Costs By 50%

New Avon was charged with cutting costs by 50% across all business functions. In turn, they decided to execute an upgrade to JD Edwards 9.2. New Avon would also migrate its upgraded JD Edwards solution to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

After completing the transformation, New Avon was on track to realize the 50% cost savings they needed, thanks to the elimination of JD Edwards support personnel, shedding applications with large support and maintenance fees, and gaining new efficiencies through a modernized application platform.

Clearwater Paper Realizes Better Service Does Exist

Clearwater was running an outdated JD Edwards solution on iSeries, which reached end-of-support in the fall of 2019. And with more than 35 of their servers on an old Windows operating system, they were ready to explore a cloud-first strategy.

Velocity helped Clearwater upgrade their JD Edwards applications to 9.2, and replatform them off of iSeries and onto OCI. The transformation ultimately helped Clearwater realize a better level of service, a lower level of risk, greater security posture, and a more economically-viable solution that set them up for success through 2025 and beyond.

How Southcoast Health Regained Flexibility

Southcoast Health needed more flexibility to manage their complex PeoplSoft applications. Their current hosting provider’s rigid processes prevented the IT team from accomplishing strategic tasks, like deploying new application functionality.

Southcoast entrusted Velocity to help them find a solution: Move their PeopleSoft applications to OCI. With their IT foundation hosted on OCI, Southcoast benefitted from much-needed flexibility. That meant they could finally administer their applications according to their own business needs.

ACN Gained a 2x Improvement in Performance

ACN is the world’s largest direct seller of telecommunications, operating in 25 countries throughout the world. Looking to minimize the burden of maintaining hardware and infrastructure, ACN needed a solution that provided greater control over costs and security, enhanced predictability, and improved application performance.

Partnering with Velocity, ACN transitioned their PeopleSoft 9.2 Financials and 8.9 archive environment with the Amazon Web Services cloud, resulting in a 2x-3x improvement in overall system performance.
