Velocity Technology Solutions Launches New Service Dedicated to Streamlining Clinical Applications in the Cloud
Velocity Technology Solutions, a global provider of cloud migration and enterprise application managed services, recently launched its new Clinical Platform as a Service (CPaaS) offering—a proprietary solution dedicated to taking the complexity out of managing the healthcare industry’s clinical applications in the cloud.
Velocity has been guiding healthcare customers through cloud adoption for nearly 15 years. With expertise in managing and migrating leading ERP applications like Epic and Infor, Velocity has helped more than 100 hospitals digitize their operations. Today, one out of every 10 U.S. hospital beds is supported by Velocity’s cloud services.
It is through this deep experience working with healthcare organizations that Velocity realized an unmet need: healthcare organizations were looking to improve their patient care capabilities with digitization, but many didn’t have the infrastructure, expertise, or manpower to implement the technology. CPaaS was created to help healthcare organizations fulfill that need.
“Clinical Platform as a Service is a labor of love that has been the result of our learnings from managing hospitals and healthcare establishments across the U.S.,” said Vickie LeRoux, the Senior Vice President of Infor and Healthcare Line of Business at Velocity Technology Solutions. “Clinical Platform as a Service elevates the typical Platform as a Service offering by catering to the specific complexities of healthcare, like the need for specialized skill sets and regulatory requirements. This is something our customers needed and asked for, and we knew it was time to deliver the right solution.”
Velocity’s CPaaS solution helps organizations seamlessly manage all of their clinical software and data in a secure, healthcare-focused cloud. This ensures critical clinical applications and data are accessible across all healthcare systems in a controlled cloud-based environment. CPaaS also provides a layer of operational support, giving healthcare organizations more time to focus on what matters most—improving patient outcomes.
“CIOs we work with say they were surprised that even when they adopted cloud into their strategy, they still need specialized staff and additional support,” LeRoux added. “I hear all the time that they feel like they traded running a data center for running a cloud. CPaaS has been developed to solve that challenge."
As an Amazon Web Services Premier Consulting Partner, Velocity is proud to make this proprietary solution available to healthcare providers throughout the world. Most recently, Velocity and AWS showcased CPaaS during the HIMSS20 Web Experience, where they delivered insights into how they’re helping customers transform their level of patient care through the cloud.
